Noir - Character’s POV

This is only a draft so there might be some typo or grammatical error. And the story might change later.

January 2014
Lily
Yesterday I’m just a normal sixteen year old teen and the next thing I knew I’m being dragged in a world of the unknowns. It happened so effing fast that I didn’t have time to absorb it. The shocked didn’t come after, though. I guess I’m raised to expect the unexpected.
Want to know what the hell I’m talking about? Don’t worry I’ll start from Friday night, the night that turned my life upside down. Let me start from that beginning.
It’s a typical Friday night. All the high schoolers are partying at some jackass whose parents are at some place far away and probably I didn’t even know existed. It’s none of my business to know. Anyway I’m invited of course. And I really don’t know why they always invite me to those parties. I tried so hard to be one of the nerds. The last thing I want is to be one of those popular kids. I just want a quiet and happy life. And I had enough attention from the boys at school.
I’m not bragging but I do have multiple stalkers. It’s really scary and it’s never fun so don’t ever dream of it. I know lots of you do, my friends do. They’re scary and they’ll piss you to the bones. Hah! And those annoying bastard that put love letters to your effing locker every day? Screw them. Every day is really tiring because of them.
I hate those stuffs. I’m the kind of person that rather stays at home and sit with my laptop than to hang out in the mall with the most popular guy around. But still they won’t leave me alone. Sometimes this life tires me off and I just want to run away from here, somewhere where I won’t be suffocated. I really wanted to. I just never had the guts to do it.
Until today.
“Mom I’m going to a high school party.” I said.
“Take care honey.” My mom replied.
She’s busy at the kitchen probably making dinner as always. I look at her and remember all those times when I was little. I had a vague memory of it though, but still I can tell that she’s a typical mother who loves their family. Then I look at my dad who’s watching news at the living room and my big brother is beside him. Both of them are the kindest male I’ve encountered. They’re always gentle and kind to me even though my brother did a lot of stupid things to annoy me. I look at my family because this will probably the last time I’ll see them.
I do love them. That’s the reason why I’m leaving. They’ll be better without me. Whenever I’m around weird things always happened. I just want them to have a peaceful life and they can’t have it when they have a cursed daughter lingering around.
I give them my goodbye in my desk. I put an envelope for each of them. But still I think I’m a cold hearted bitch because I don’t feel sad. I feel me for the very first time in my life. This is not where I belong. I can feel it since I was born.
So where should I go now? No idea.
A choice can affect your life. I think fate never really existed. Events just happened with the choices we made. And I made a choice and so now that choice leads me here to this situation. It’s a choice that was made in a spontaneous moment. A product of my craziness.
Now I’m out here at the middle of the night, freezing with a backpack full of things I need. I never thought night would be dangerous. I love night time. I’m more of a night person because my mind loves being awake at night than the day. I’m used at hanging out in the night street.
I don’t want to think what might happen in the future. I don’t want to constantly remind myself that I’m walking aimlessly in the middle of the night with nowhere to go. I don’t want to think that I might be naïve and I’m putting myself in danger. I just wanted to enjoy this moment. I feel so free and I love this feeling.
I stop walking because I hear a footstep near me. Shit is it a Robber? Oh Damnit I don’t care if it’s a kidnapper just don’t let it be a rapist. Oh god.
“Shit.” A voice said behind me and before I can move my head to look, he suddenly puts his big hands to my mouth.
“HMPPP!!” I made a muffled sound. I’m not scared. I’m just seriously pissed right now. And if he’s not stronger than me I can easily put him down. F this situation I’m in now.
“Be quiet.” He whispered. What the hell is with him?!
“Hmmp!” Hah! Take that! I’m not going to shut up until you set me free. I’ll give you back the piss off feeling you’re giving me right now.
“Damnit. Shut up.” He hissed.
“LMPPGH!” I said louder.
“Oh please.” He sighed. “I’ll let you go just promise me not to move and don’t shout.”
Since I can’t respond verbally, I nodded my head.
“Sorry about that.” He said. “But I really need your cooperation right now.”
“Ok.” I said. I’m not going to cooperate first but when I saw his face, oh shit, I never thought I would say that I’m attracted. I’ve never felt attraction before. I’m a cold hearted bitch remember? But this guy? Holy hell! He’s a god, an angel, and a girl’s worst nightmare.
He’s tall and smoking hot. And his face is his best asset. Even though it’s dark I can still see his face (thanks to the moon). He has a perfect nose, perfect lips, perfect golden eyes (what’s with those eyes anyway, I’ve never seen it so intense like that), cute ears and his smoking hot messy brown hair. Everything in his face is perfect. He reminds me of a wolf, not just some wolf, but an Alpha wolf.
“Hey!” He whispered. “Still alive?”
“Barely.” I answered and I tried to make it sound calm. Haha. Good thing I did. I don’t want to sound like a perv. But damn this. He’s so close and he’s still holding me, by my shoulders. And why the hell are we hiding in the bush? Shit, don’t tell me his a peeping tom and I just caught him in the act.
“Just hold still and be quiet until I say its ok.” He ordered and I did.

After a few seconds a man suddenly sprouts from nowhere. I mean it literally. He just came out from a dark smoke like some evil incarnate. Come to think of it he does look like evil with that dark robe he’s wearing. He reminds me of Dath Vader. But what’s there to be surprise? I told you weird things happen when I’m around.
“What did you say she’s not there?” The man said. Who the hell is he talking to? I don’t see anyone around.
“She’s gone when we arrived.” Oh shit. There’s another voice and I can’t effing see him. What the hell did I stumble upon? I wanted to see it. I’m not scared I’m just curios what the hell is this. Instinctively I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. When I opened my eyes, that’s where I saw the shadows. My eyes go wide. I glance to the boy beside me and caught him looking at me. That’s really embarrassing. I immediately put my attention back to the shadow. Damn it’s scary. It reminds me of those dark creatures in Harry Potter.
“Go find her!” The man shouted to the shadow. He’s really mad, more like he’s in a deathly rage. The shadow just simply vanished out of our sight. The man remained staring at a piece of paper.
“You can come out now.” The man grinned. He’s evil. I can feel it. It made my whole body goose in bumps.
“Damn it.” The boy beside me muttered.
He stands up and both his hands are raised. He slowly moves to the evil man. And I’m left alone here in the bush still hiding. He told me not to move until he says it’s ok, right?
“It’s the dog of the council.” The evil man greeted. “Fancy meeting you here.”
“Let’s get down to business.” The boy said while lowering his hands. “I know you know why I’m here.”
“I did?” He replied sarcastically. For some unknown reason that man really pissed me off, probably because he’s evil.
“Nonsense.” The boy said in annoyance. “I should run if I were you.”
Was it just me or did he glance at my direction? Is he telling me to run? Screw him. I’m not going to leave him here alone.
“I should be the one saying that.” The evil man grinned.
“I’m not scared of you.”
“Ooh I know you are. I’m thinking of the things I will do with you right now. Shall I kill you right now and silence you forever? Or shall I send you back to the council barely alive to be a warning? Ooh this is fun.”
Kill? Shit he’s really a goddamn evil jerk.
“Over my dead body.” My boy snarled at him. He suddenly howls like a wolf. What is he doing? Shouldn’t they be fighting right now? I just hope it doesn’t involve guns. I can’t help him with that.
“Your back up won’t come.” He laughed. “I send my men to give him a gift. He’s probably gone right now.”
“No you don’t.” Oh no. My boy is in the verge of rage. He’s ready to punch him anytime and he’s snarling at him.
“Ooh I did.” The man laughed louder and eviler.
That did it. He leaps at him and it’s so fast that I can barely follow their movements. They’re so freaking super human with that impossible speed. I had no idea whose side is winning. Damn it. They’re rolling at the pavement and it’s like watching two animals brawl.
The evil man is stronger. He’s got my boy corner now and I really wanted to help him. Damn right I have a weapon in my pocket. I remember I always carry a Swiss knife with me.
I cleared my heads and my thoughts. I gathered all the energy of my body and transferred it to my fingers. I focus my eyes in the target. Breathe in and breathe out. Feel the wind in your surroundings. Look at your target one last time. And carefully throw the knife like a hunter.
Both of them are not expecting it especially my target since he didn’t even knew I existed. I’m facing his back and the target my mind registered is the back of his head. The knife travels at the speed of 10 miles per hour and it hit directly straight to him. He drops dead with a lot of blood gushing out of him. Shit did I kill him? Did I?
“Let’s run!” The boy said. “Hop on!”
Before my mind can register the shock of what just happened, I was shoved in the back of my boy. He’s running like a ninja while carrying me. I should totally be scared right now, aren’t I? But I don’t. I feel more alive. I feel different like something inside me just awoken.
“You didn’t kill him.” He said as we run, as he run with me on his back. I let out a breath I didn’t even knew I’m holding. I’m just glad I didn’t kill him.
“And thank you for saving me.” He added.
This is really weird. I don’t know what to say. But I admit I’m having fun right now and I can’t hold back my laughter anymore. So I give in and laugh to my heart’s content for the very first time in a long time. He glances at me probably looking if I’m still sane. He didn’t say a thing but he did something unexpected. He laughs too. And we both laugh like an idiot while running around the street like a ninja.
I admit I’m glad I run away and I’ll stop thinking what might happen anymore. I’ll just follow my instincts from now on.

Riel
It’s the cold season and instead of staying warm in my room drinking hot chocolate while watching zombie movies with my best friend, I’m stuck here in some Asian country, stuck here in the bush hiding while waiting for some evil man to come out. Our job sucks. Holidays doesn’t exist for us. Where the hell is that idiot anyway? This sucks a lot. It’s really annoying to be the responsible one in the party.
It’s so damn hot in this country and it’s starting to get on my nerves. Damn that stupid jerk taking too long. Doesn’t he know that it’s fucking itchy hiding in the bush while waiting for some action to happen? Whose idea is it anyway? All they just asked us to do is to observe a man who’s probably dealing with the dark side. This sucks!
I suddenly heard footsteps from afar and my panic button snaps. Shit he’s early. I don’t think can handle him alone. Damn you Aeros get your ass back here immediately. Damn you.
Wait what the hell! It’s a girl. Shit it’s a random civilian. I don’t know what to do. I have two choices ignore her but she will ruin my spying if she won’t get the hell out of here or get her ass here and hide her but it will lead her to danger. Screw that I’ll just do what my instinct told me, it had never failed me before.
Without thinking I rush out to her. What the hell am I doing, I’m probably scaring her and she’s probably thinking that I’m either a kidnaper or a rapist. What the hell is my mind thinking? I should have planned this through carefully.
“HMPPP!!” She said thrusting herself away from me.
I need to make her calm. She needs to trust me. I just hope she will listen. I did all I can and she finally agreed with me. I promise to let her mouth go but I’m scared she will shout the moment I did it. I trusted my instinct and it’s telling me to trust her.
This situation is really awkward. How the hell did we end up hiding together in the bush? That’s probably me. But what I don’t get is why she’s being cooperative. Is she insane?
I glance at her to see if she’s ok but what I saw will hunt my mind forever. Shit. She’s so fucking beautiful. I’ve never been so attracted to someone before. She has the softest black hair and the most stunning dark eyes. Her face is perfect and she’s so damn sexy. She smells so damn delicious and I’m probably drooling right now. She smells like lavender. I’m not a pervert but right now I just want to kiss her. Damn this, her face is so close to mine. And my heart won’t stop skipping its beat. Who the hell is this girl? I’m totally a goner and I’m so fucking turned on right now.
I’m staring and drooling at her that I’ve forgotten about my job. Where the hell is Aeros? He’s ruining the plan. I needed back up if I’m going to deal with Heron.
But it can get worst. Heron’s finally here just like what our informant told us and Aeros is nowhere to be found plus I had a civilian with me. I’m screwed.
He’s talking to his shadow slave. It’s one hell of a proof that he’s really dealing on the dark side. I have a reason now to arrest him but I have to remained still. He had the upper hand if ever we fight. Those shadows really scared the hell out of me. I had no idea who they’re talking about. He’s looking for a girl? Looks like there’s more to this case.
Remembering about my girl I glance at her to see if she’s ok. She’s really insane for cooperating with me under this circumstance. Good thing human can’t see those shadows. It will freak her out. But what I saw in her face is something I never expected. She’s shocked. Shit. Don’t tell me she can see those things. She glances at me and in that moment I know she really can see them. Who is this girl?
“You can come out now.”
Shit. He knows I’m here.
I just hope something good will happen for listening to my instincts. Everything happened so fast and the next thing I know I’m brawling with Heron. I’m really pissed right now and his vampire blood is adding negative energy to mine. Werewolf is stronger, meaning I’m stronger, but he’s faster and I’m barely keeping up with his attacks. Then suddenly I’m cornered and I can’t move. Shit a spell. When the hell did he executed it?! I can’t die here! Damn this.
Why is it not a full moon today! Damn it! I’m the verge of transforming when Heron suddenly falls and the spell was lifted. I had no idea what happened then suddenly my girl run towards us. Her hands are shaking. That’s where I saw Heron’s blood and that’s where I understand what happened. This girl is not normal. She’s not safe here. She needs to come with us.
“Let’s run!” I yelled at her. She obeyed but she’s so fucking slow and the longer we stay the more Heron’s wound will heal. It’s faster if I carry her. Now I’m running as fast as I can with our lives on the line. And the next thing I know I’m laughing with her. This girl is really weird and I can’t help but get attracted with her and her laugh, damn I can listen to it forever. I’m really a goner now.
I’m about to ask her who and what she is when my cell phone suddenly rings. It’s probably that damn idiot. He’s still alive.
“Are you ok Riel?” He asked.
“Where the hell are you man?” I said sarcastically.  “Our plan was really epic.”
“Hey I was attack. And for your information I found out something. Now get your ass here. Just use the GPS man. I don’t know either where I am.”
“Got it. Just stay there.” I warned. “This evening is not really pleasant to me.”
“Ditto.” He hung up.
“Hold on tight.” I said to my girl and I run faster.

Aeros
I know he can handle himself so I left him spy alone while I buy snacks for us. Our job is never easy but we can also never neglect food. It’s important to our life, more important than a job.
I’m on my way to seven eleven when I notice there are six people tailing me. Lucky for them I’m on my way to buy food so I’m in a good trance right now. I had no time to deal with it so I ignored them.
I bought seven yogurts and a take-out of five burgers and three large fries. We can live with that for now although I can’t guarantee that it will be enough to suffice our stomach. It will not but I need to go back. I feel guilty leaving my best friend alone in some random street hiding in the bush. Man I hope he’s ok. I feel like a jerk.
I’m not a fast runner like Riel (because he’s a werewolf) but I’m faster than a person in a bike, maybe just faster it. I just wanted to get this done as soon as possible and I know Riel wanted it too even though that man is a workaholic. He’s the responsible one and I’m the jerk one.
Then suddenly the worst thing happened to me. Those fuckers that have been following me caught up and they blocked my way. That’s not the worst that happened. My yogurts, those precious yogurts, they were crushed by the impact.
They’re all at the floor and they’re now inedible. Who would have done that? Nobody ever messed up with food, especially mine. They’ll pay for it. Now who’s the fucker who did it?
Heh, it’s our little friend, the shadows. Heron’s an idiot if he thinks he could kill me using his little slaves.
There are six of them surrounding me. They’re chanting a spell and I know what spell it is. It’s a caging spell. Tsk, they suck at it. If I will be the one doing it, it won’t take that long. They’re such an amateur. I was pissed. He’s underestimating my ability. So now it’s my time to show them how a spell is really done.
I don’t need to chant those words that no one ever really understands. I’ve memorized them all inside my head. I just need to close my eyes and look for the spell I need. There are hundreds of red strings inside my head and they represent each and every spell I know. The one that will turn white is the one I need.
I see it!
I just have to grab it with my imagination. Then I’ll open my eyes, inhale and exhale, gather all my energy in the spell and I just have to snap my fingers. And the spell is done.
In just few seconds they explode one by one from right to left. I didn’t give them an easy death. They’re still alive. But they’re slowly being burned by a holy fire. That’s for what they did to my yogurts. I want them to suffer.
“What the?!” yelled another voice.
There are seven of them? How come I didn’t notice him? No he just arrive at the scene and this one is the big one. He’s the leader and probably stronger. Shit, I can only use Holy Fire once a day.
“And who are you?” I said towering him to make him scared. I need him to think that I’m stronger while I think what to do.
“You can’t fool me boy.” He grinned. “I know that spell. And I also know its weakness.”
Double shit.
“You think that’s the only spell I can do?”
“I know who you are boy.” He laughed. “You’re the Nephilim who scored the highest at the guardian exam. Aeros. The prodigy son of Salamander, the angel of fire.”
“How the hell do you know that?” Now I’m really beyond pissed. I’m so fucking mad right now. He didn’t answer. He just smirks at him.
“I’ll ask another question instead.” Trying to calm myself. “What are you working with Heron? You shadows never work for someone unless it’s something that would benefit you greatly. What is it?”
“Am I going to tell you or not.” He grinned. “Ok I will since I’ll kill you later anyway.” Yeah right, over my dead body.
“We are looking for a girl.” He said and showed the picture to me.
“Is that a joke?”
“It’s your choice not to believe or to believe.”
“Who is she?”
“Now I can’t tell you that.” He smirked. “I’ve given you enough information already.”
I already know what’s to come. It will be the moment that he’ll kill me with a lethal spell. But I’m smarter than him. While he’s talking I’m searching for that spell inside my head. A spell that can make me get the hell out of here.

I count from one to three and then a lightning flash everywhere. It will make him blinded for a while. Shadows only operate at night so they have a great weakness in light, especially holy ones. I let out my wings and fly as far away as I can. My life is at stake here, it’s no time to run my pride. But someday when I get stronger, I’ll kill him. I’ll kill the leader of the shadows.
It’s really exhausted to use three spell at a time when you’re hungry plus the flight made me more tired. I called Riel as soon as can and I hope I’m safe here at McDonalds. I know I am since nobody in our world wants to make a scene. We’re all made to be the unknowns. We live in secrecy.
A few long minutes later he arrives. But not alone, he’s with a girl. A beautiful girl he just seen a few minutes ago in a picture.
“Holy Shit.” I blurted out and the three of us look at each other confused.
What the hell is with this situation?
Who the hell is this girl?

Noir - Chapter 4

This is only a draft so there might be some typo or grammatical error. And the story might change later.

Chapter4

She closed her eyes as she slowly descends from the row on the way to the Arena. She can hear the loud cheered and noise. They’re all cheering at her opponent. She doesn’t understand if it’s Deck or Death but whatever it is she doesn’t care. She’s so pissed right now.
When she opened her eyes she’s finally standing at the edge of the Arena. The fight doesn’t start yet because the mentor was still talking and she had no idea what is it. She felt an intense gaze that’s directed towards her. She surveyed her surrounding and that’s where she saw him. She’d never seen someone so dazzling, more even dazzling than Aeros and Riel. And he has the reddest eyes she’s ever seen. There’s a strange emotion in his eyes. Was it shocked? Does this guy know her? He looked like he just seen someone back from the death.
Their gazed locked and she felt like time just suddenly stopped. He’s staring at her and she’s staring back at him. Then the mentor called her to step inside the arena. She did and the fight begun. She shifted all her emotion in her opponent.
Her opponent immediately went after her. He’s big and full muscles. He’s a werewolf, she thought. He went after her and she kept running and avoiding him. They looked like they’re playing cat and mouse. It’s too bad for her because she’s the mouse. She wanted to take him down so badly but she knew she can’t so for now she had to run for her life while she thought of a strategy on how to make him beg. She’s not a sadist but when she heard that he almost killed his opponent last year she wanted to make him beg.
The spectator booed her and her pissed off meter was still rising. She got distracted that she tripped and was hit by Death. He keeps hitting her and she avoided most of it but it still hurts.
Aeros was gripping the bench and he’s almost at her limit. Riel seemed to be at his limit too. It’s hard to saw her getting hit by a psychopath. It even gets harder when she’s finally bleeding and looking like a rag doll. Both of them stand up at the same time and yelled her name, telling her to forfeit. The guy doesn’t care if he killed her. He lives for the chase and blood but Lily was too stubborn to forfeit. She hasn’t given up yet. They’re just blood and bruised, she thought. Then she remembered something from a long time ago. It’s something similar to this. Someone she knew was getting bullied and she got in to stop the fight but she was hit instead and they keep doing it like Death was doing to her right now. She remembered what she feels that day. She suddenly snapped and she feels like she can conquer the world back there. So she called out to that feeling.
The mentor was about to stopped the fight when Lily stopped Death’s punch with her one hand. Death was shocked by what happened. Lily’s eyes were closed and all her bruised and blood was nowhere to be found. Silenced consumed the field, all of them stopped breathing.
Then she opened her eyes. They’re shining like an ember and it’s the most beautiful combination of red. It’s like it was burning. She grinned evilly at Death. He felt scared for the first time in his life. He’d killed hundreds before and it’s the first time he encountered someone like her. It’s not only him who can feel her menace. All the people present shivered in fears. They’re all scared to utter a single word. Everything happened like a slow motion. And she set loose. Hell broke down.
She started punching Death like he doesn’t even weight a single pound. She lifted him the air and she jumped higher than him and gave him an air punch and he hit the pavement hard that it crumbled slightly. Death coughed in blood. He can’t speak, he can’t fight back and he can’t move in fear. His mind had shot down. He’s just a body staring at her in shocked. She kept punching him with a speed only vampires can. He kept being buried deeper in the pavement. His eyes started to dilate and he’s on the verge of dying but Lily kept punching and kicking her in the air and when she got tired of it she kept throwing him in the ground. She’s out of control that she can’t even hear the mentor telling her to stop. Nobody wanted to get near her to stop her. They’re all staring wide eye at how fearful this little being is. Shiki and Aeros were running down the aisle and was about to stopped her when one of the royals suddenly appeared at her side.
It’s the red eyed man staring at her earlier. His silver hair flowed through the wind cause by the impact when his hands stopped hers. She looked at him and he saw the wild look in her. It’s something familiar, something he thought he would never see again.
“Lucy. It’s over.” He whispered to her and she’s the only one who can hear it. Even the vampires and werewolves who had the sharpest ear didn’t hear it. To the viewer it only appeared that he just stopped her. There’s nothing more, no communication happened.
“Who are you?” Lily asked and her eyes are slowly turning to its normal black. He just smiled at her and the Medics rushed towards death. Luckily he’s still breathing.
Lily finally snapped out of it and realized what she just did. “Shit!” She muttered and she suddenly rushed towards death leaving Zach and his warm hands. He watched her for a moment daze by her and he followed them. Everyone was still in shock and nobody moved for a minute even if Lily was gone from the arena. The only one who moved was Riel and Aeros who followed Lily.
“I’m really sorry.” Lily kept saying to Death while they rushed him to the infirmary. Good thing werewolf heals faster and he only needs some bandage and some pain killers. That’s what the medics told her while they descend through the hallway.
She finally calmed down when Death was fully bandaged. He’s asleep and finally breathing normally. She didn’t leave and neither the medics. Zach was also there. He didn’t leave Lily’s side.
“Thank you about that.” Lily said to Zach. “I almost killed him.”
“It’s nothing.” He’s staring at her intently.
“I owed you.” She said. “I was really pissed back there. You know I suddenly remembered this boy who was getting bullied and then I came to help him. I got out of control back there too. I just don’t remember how it ended.”
“I know.” Zach said quietly that Lily didn’t hear it. There’s a glint in his eyes and his gaze never leaves her.
Aeros and Riel suddenly came rushing in the infirmary. They’re not concerned about death but in Lily. Zach stand on the side looking annoyed wandering who the hell are these little midgets.
“Are you ok?” Riel asked him.
“That’s so bad ass.” Aeros teased trying to lighten up the mood.
“Thanks guys.” She laughed. “But I’m totally ok.”
“What happened to your wounds?” Riel asked.
“I had no idea.” Lily said. “I don’t know what happened to me.”
“Shit that’s scary.” Aeros said. “I think you got possessed.”
“That’s not funny.” She rolled her eyes to him.
“Kids you’re inside the infirmary.” The medics remind them. “And I still need to see if you’re injured Miss Lily.”
“Aish. I told you guys I’m fine.” She shrugged.
“That won’t do.” The medics proclaimed.
“Fine.” Lily pouted. “Please no injection.”
“I can’t promise you that.” She grinned.
Lily winced and her gaze shifted to Zach.
“Hey. You haven’t told me your name yet.” She said to him as the medics examined her.
Aeros and Riel gaze shifted to him too and there’s a dark look in their eyes.
“Zach.” He replied smiling at her.
“Cool name.” She complimented him. And he smiled even more dazzling that all the female in the infirmary got their panties wet. Lily’s the only one unaffected by it.
“You’re cleared.” Her medics told her. “You can go now.”
“Phew.” She breathed out.
“Can we have some ramen?” Lily said to Riel and Aeros. “I need to cheer up myself. I still feel bad about what happened.”
“Sure.” Aeros grinned and Zach will finally be out of the picture. He doesn’t trust the guy neither Riel. He’s a bad news and they can tell that he’s interested in Lily.
“See you later.” She said to him. “Thanks for the help.”
“It’s nothing.” He replied and he looked like he wanted to say something but he stopped and he let her leave for now.
While they walk at the hallway, Riel’s phone suddenly rang. He answered it and he didn’t notice Lily’s shaking hand. She was really scared. She pretend to be ok on what happened but she can’t fool herself. She’s fucking not ok.
“Hello?” Riel asked. “What? Now? Fine.”
Riel seemed frustrated and Aeros and Lily raised their eyebrows to him.
“Sorry guys.” Riel apologized. “Duty calls.”
“K. See ya later.” Lily said forcing herself to smile while hiding her shaking hands behind her back. But Aeros noticed it.
“You suck at acting.” Aeros stated after Riel left.
“What?” Lily was surprised by his question that she suddenly looked at him but he’s looking ahead deep in thoughts.
“If you’re afraid then stop this idiocy. You’re not fit here.” He said. He can still remember clearly what happened earlier. He can’t take seeing her getting hurt like that.
“Are you trying to get rid of me?” She asked hurt.
“I’m just concerned as a friend.” He sighed. “You’re hands are shaking Lily. The world can see that you’re scared.”
“Everybody feels fear Aeros.” She replied. “It’s a proof that we’re alive and it’s also proof that there’s something ahead of us that we need to be stronger. I’m not afraid to be afraid. This will be over in a few minutes.”
“If you’re not afraid of being afraid then that makes you fearless.” Aeros said finally looking at her.
“Ah! I think you’re right.” She beamed. “So I’m fearless.”
“Like that would be possible.” He teased. “Idiot.”
“Whatever.” Lily laughed followed by Aeros.
Lily’s eyes widen finally realizing that Aeros just laughed.
“Holy shit.” She said wide eyes. “Aeros finally softens to me.”
“It’s really hot whenever you cursed.” He smirked.
“And he knows how to flirt too!” Lily said in exasperated tone. “Dude what the hell you just ate.”
“OA much?” He rolled his eyes to her and chuckled.
“Where’s the cold hearted jerk who hate me?”
“I don’t hate you. I just like messing with you. And I just realized that we’re going to be acquaintance for a long time so it’s a waste to put my act. I’ll just get tired of it.”
“Come to think of it!” She said realizing something. “Did you just say friend earlier?”
“I’m not as bad as you think.” He frowned.
“Dude you’re scaring the hell out of me.”
“Really, OA much.”
“Haha just kidding.” She teased. “I like messing with you two. But I admit, I like this side of you. Though it won’t hurt if we keep our previous relationship. I like having you as my frenemies.”
“Ditto.” He grinned.
“So now let’s fill our stomach and returned to normal.”

Inside Luke’s office, Riel and Luke was looking at each other seriously. They were talking about Lily.
“They all wanted her.” Luke said in a panic voice.
“Where the hell are you anyway? And where’s Serine and Shiki? You guys are the only adult here we trusted.” Riel said in annoyance.
“We’re all in Sinai. The council called us for a meeting. I just arrived and after hearing what happened I immediately called you. Good thing I’m on my way back.”
“Will she be disqualified?”
“No.” Luke said determined. “She needs to win now else we can’t protect her and they’re all betting on her now.”
“Those damn royals!” Riel punched the table. “She’s not something they just acquire. Damnit she’s a person and has a freaking life. They can’t just bet on her!”
“That’s why I called you. I need you to teach her everything about surviving in this world.”
“I will. And I’ll tell her what’s happening.” Riel looked at Luke in full resolve. “I made a promise to her.”
“Fine.” Luke said defeated. “Just make sure to protect her. I trust you and Aeros to do that.”
“Don’t worry, she’s a friend so we won’t let something happened to her.”
“I’ll try if I can do something about those bastards. You three just focus on winning.” Luke said. “I’ll call you again when I need you. Take care of them for me.”
“I will.”

Radio Overhead - Chapter 2

This is only a draft so there might be some typo or grammatical error. And the story might change later.

Chapter 2
Nick
When I woke up, the very first thing I saw is the white ceiling of the hospital room. I remembered what happened. So I didn’t die.
“Oh my god you’re finally awake.” My little sister said beside me. That’s supposed to be mom’s place. Ah, that’s right I forgot. She died.
“Is he mad?” I asked and she already knew who I’m talking about.
“He visited once and it’s really hard to tell but I think he’s worried.” She shrugged.
“I’m sorry.” I apologized for being a jerk. I can’t disappear right now, this family already lost one member and it’s enough pain. I don’t want them to go through the same memories, never again. “I’ll stop alcoholic beverages.”
“Good.” She sighed. “But I have bad news for you.”
“What?”
“You’re under probation and you have to do community service for 120 hours.” She grinned. “Until then you’re grounded from driving. Dad said.”
“Argh. Damn.”
“Good luck.” She said in a sing song voice. Damn her she’s enjoying this.
I learned that I’ve been out for three days because of a concussion. No broken piece on my bones. No severe damage in any part of y internal organs. It means that I’m totally fine and can be discharged 24 hours after I woke up.
They say I’m lucky. But there’s one thing I have to find out. Who’s voice it is that I heard before my accident. And the memory of the girl that I still remember clearly is hunting me like a favourite song I can’t forget. It’s a melody, the background music inside me.
There’s also something that has been pestering me since my accident, my manager and the media. I forgot to tell what I do for a living. I’m an Idol and I do a lot of singing. Anyway I just did it because it brought me closer to my mother. She used to be in the music industry and she used to receive Grammy Awards. My fans were really worried about me but I mostly got lectures from my manager that I eventually tuned out and pretend I was somewhere in the outer space floating endlessly without direction. Just like how I am.
“Just when you’re finally on the top charts you have to drag yourself down again?” He scolded. “Are you even thinking?”
“I don’t have time for this.”
“Same here kid.” He said. “Your mother will be very disappointed in you.”
He’s on the right side but he’s already crossing the line and he even used my mother. I’ve had enough of his shit.
“Are we done here?”
“What?” He said annoyed.
“I’m quitting.”
“Are you stupid? You have an amazing voice. You can be like your mother.”
“Enough. I’m done here.” I said and before he can answer back I slammed the door and get the hell out of here. He’s wrong. I can never be like my mother. He only cares about money so he never saw me. It’s not like this with my mother. She’s glowing whenever she’s on the stage unlike me who was controlled. I can’t even pick my own songs. All they gave me is crappy. It’s not so me. It’s all fake.
“I’m doing my community service starting today.” I declared as I passed through the living room.
They all stared at me jaw dropping.
“What?”
“Code RED! Nick said he’s doing it! He’s started to go insane.” My idiotic little brother freaked out. Seriously. Is doing things like this seemed that impossible for me before?  I know I’m a hermit but he’s exaggerating.
“Just shut your mouth and let him do what he wants.” My father said while he read the daily newspaper.
“Whatever.” Tom frowned.
“See you later guys.” I waved goodbye to my insane family.
“Wait.” My sister called back.
“What?”
“Don’t forget to bring an umbrella.” She said and handed me one. “They say it might rain later today.”
“You’re acting like mom again.” I said before I can stop those words from flowing out. I was expecting to see her sad face because we stop talking about her a long time ago but instead she laughed.
“What?”
“You finally talked about her.” She smiled. “You’re changing.”
“It’s just your imagination.” I shrugged.
“Is it a girl?” She beamed. How did she know that?
“Stop being nosy.”
“I want to meet her. Be sure to invite her to dinner sometimes.”
I want to meet her too. I don’t even know her name.
I wonder how I’ve never notice before how wonderful it felt to walk under the sun. I love watching busy people walk these busy streets. I like to think how each of them had their own stories to walk thru. I can see everything so clearly and it felt nice to appreciate every beauty around you. Inspiration is everywhere. I’m starting to think these insane thoughts because of her. I wonder if she’s here somewhere in these street. I wonder if we passed by each other before. I wonder if she even existed in the first place. It’s Saturday morning and I usually slept late at this kind of day. But today I’m moving on a different path.
“Hello?” There’s not a single person in sight so I called out.
“Oh hey there.” A blue eyed Blondie greeted me.
“I’m Nick. I’m here for the community services.”
“Great, we really need a lot of help right now.” He said. “Come with me. I’ll show you around oh and we are assigned for the children.”
“I like children.” I really do.
“Cool. I never expected you to be uhmm you know non-spoiled?” he chuckled.
“I see. Words travel fast.”
“Don’t worry everything that happened here is confidential. I just knew your Nick because I checked you back ground.”
“Nice meeting you too…uhmm..”
“Flynn.” He said and held out his hand to me. “My name’s Flynn.”
“Nice to meet you Flynn.”
“Nice to meet you too Nick.” He grinned. “Now I shall teach you the art of taming these little monsters.”
He brought me to a place that looks like a day care center with at least ten kids inside it. They’re not normal kids, they’re all autistic.
“You ready for your first day?” Flynn asked.
“Yeah.” I replied and to be honest I felt so excited.
“Great.” He grinned. “I can see that we can get along really well.”
“Same here.” I like Flynn. He’s a nice person.
It was pretty hard at first especially calming them. I never thought it would be this hard but it’s worth it. Just the thought of being able to help others make me wants to do more. I think I might start a charity organization. I enjoyed this stuff.
“Flynn. Can I talk to you for a minute?” a mid-forty something man called out to Flynn.
“OK. Oh by the way this is Nick.” Flynn said. “And Nick, meet Bob, the owner of this place.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you sir. This is a nice place.” I greeted him.
“Glad your liking it here.” He greeted me warmly. He reminds me of a nice granpa I never had the chance to meet.
“I’ll leave the kids to you.” Flynn said but before I can say sure Bob answered him.
“It won’t take long.” He seemed sad. “I just wanted to ask what we will do with Kate’s thing.”
“She’ll come back Bob. Let’s give her time plus we can display the pictures and their artwork on the wall.”
“I hope so Flynn.” Bob paused. “Enjoy yourself young lads. I’ll tell Betty to cook something nice for snacks.” He said and left.
I was curious on one thing and I can’t help myself to ask. So I interrogated Flynn.
“Who’s Kate?”
“The girl who work before you here.” He replied.
“She left?”
“Yeah.” He said sadly. “Because someone died.”
“Oh that’s horrible.”
“It sure is.” He said and that’s where I saw his face. He seemed sad and nostalgic.
“So what’s she like? She seemed special.” I said and I suddenly realized if I’m snooping deep the subject. “I’m sorry you don’t have to answer me.”
“She’s very special to me. She’s also special to this place. Everyone here loves her. She’s bright and cheerful and even I love her.”
“I wish I had met her.” I said sadly.
“Don’t worry, she’ll come back.”
“I can’t wait to meet her.” I said.
“You bet.” He smirked. “I can see that you’ll like her too.”
We were interrupted by a loud scream. I looked at where it came from. It’s from of the child. He’s throwing a tantrum in the middle of the day.
“Damn he’s at it again.” Flynn shrugged. “I’ll go calm him down. You continue cleaning their mess here.”
“Roger that.”
A year ago if you ask me to volunteer in a place like this I would probably punch you. I’m not comfortable talking to strangers but with these kind people it’s really so easy to interact. I think I made the right choice for this. I like everyone here. They’re very kind and generous to me. They’re not fake people unlike in the world I grew up where everyone tried to climb up the social pyramid. I’m right not to waste my time on clubs. I’d rather be here. I like it here.
One day before my community service ended, I helped Flynn cleaned the storage room. They’re going to do a Garage Sale for the kids. My life here will end in a few more days but I’ll come here often.
“Ah. Why is this here.” Flynn suddenly muttered. He’s holding a guitar case.
“Is that a guitar?” I asked curiously.
“You’ve never seen a guitar before?” He teased. “Even though you’re really popular in the pop music industry.”
“So you play guitar?” I asked ignoring his sarcasm.
He sighed and opened the case. He held out the guitar who looked old and shiny at the same time. He started strumming a melody I’ve never heard before. And there I was staring at him like I’ve never heard something so beautiful before. Flynn looked like my mother whenever she played the piano. This is what I’ve been looking for all this time. This kind of music.
“Please teach me how to play the guitar.” I blurted out.
“Huh?” He said confused. “Are you kidding me? You really don’t know how to play the guitar?”
“Would I even asked so pathetic like this if I know how to.” I shrugged. “I only learned the piano.”
“Fine.” He surrendered. “Hold this and try to play something.”
“But I don’t know how to.”
“Just do it. Hurry. We still have a lot of work to do.” He said impatiently.
I did what he told me to do. Memorizing every chord he taught to my fingers. It’s confusing at first but I’m starting to know the difference between D and a D minor.
“You’re a natural.” He said. “I guess you’re no big joke after all.”
“Really?” I don’t know why but that simple compliment means so much.
“Hand it to me. I’ll play something and you sing.” He ordered.
He started playing one of my songs. Damn it he’s good. I can’t even compare mine to him. But nonetheless I sang because his playing made me hooked. Our melody blended and it was so awesome that it even beat my favourite movie transformer. The stars aligned and the world sing with us and for a moment I can finally feel how my mother felt. I’m closer to her than before.
“Wow. What was that?” I said amazed after our little jamming.
“That’s called singing idiot.” He shrugged.
“Can we do that again? I really like singing with your guitar.” I pleaded.
“Damn you’re annoying.” He sighed. “Have you ever tried to be in a band?”
“It never crossed my mind.”
“Then welcome to the band.” He grinned.
“What?” I asked confused.
“You’ll have the privilege to be the vocalist of my band in exchange you have to learn how to play the guitar. You have the talent. Don’t waste it.”
And just like that, fate started to move the piece one by one. Like it’s playing a game of chess with our lives as the player.
